Created in reverence for Yemaya, this intention oil honors the beloved Orisha whose presence is deeply associated with the ocean, motherhood, nourishment, and protection in Lucumí tradition. In my personal devotion, Yemaya holds a special place in the relationship between nurturing and protection. As a mother, a creator, and someone whose work involves holding space for others, I know how much love can ask of us. I am also learning to honor my own need for rest, privacy, and care. When I think of Yemaya, I reflect on a love spacious enough to comfort and strong enough to protect. My reverence for her reminds me to care for what is precious, including the person doing the caring. I can love my family, serve my community, and still have boundaries around my time, my home, and my spirit. This oil is a personal expression of that devotion. It accompanies prayers for my children, peace within my home, discernment in what I welcome into my life, and the strength to remain tender through difficult seasons. I offer it with deep respect for Yemaya and gratitude for the place she holds in my spiritual life.
